We take your right to privacy seriously and ensure that the personal data you share with us is handled securely and properly. Our privacy policy is intentionally kept simple so that you can easily get an overview of exactly what data we have registered about you, how we received it, how we use it, and who has access to it.
This privacy policy serves both as information for you regarding your personal data with us and as our declaration of how we handle it. "We" refers to Emaldo ApS, registered under CVR number DK43724002, with a physical address at Bygmarken 4A, 3650 Ølstykke, Denmark, hereinafter referred to as Emaldo. "You" refers to you as someone engaging in one or more of the interaction categories listed below with us.
What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European-wide legislation designed to protect your personal data when used and stored by companies like ours.
The regulation applies throughout the European Economic Area (EEA) and ensures uniform guidelines on how your data may be handled, as well as your rights to have it modified or completely deleted.
We are the data controller
We are responsible for all personal data you share with us—an obligation we take very seriously.
As the data controller, we ensure that the data you provide is used only for the purposes you have consented to, is handled securely, and is shared with third parties only when necessary to deliver our products and services to you. Any such data exchanges are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations.
Data processors
In many cases, we act as a data processor when handling your personal data. However, we also rely on external partners to provide our products and services.
We have entered into specific Data Processing Agreements with each of our suppliers to ensure that data sharing is conducted securely and in accordance with strict guidelines.
In some cases, your personal data may also be transferred outside the EU’s borders. For example, data collected via our websites may be processed in Google Analytics, based in the USA, and our customer service system, provided and hosted by Zendesk Inc., also located in the USA.
Your rights

Duration of data retention
The retention period for personal data depends on the type of data collected and the purpose for which it is processed.
For example, certain technical data such as your IP address, which may be shared with our service providers (e.g., Cloudflare Inc.) to ensure secure content delivery and mitigate cybersecurity threats, is generally retained for no longer than 24 hours. In exceptional cases—such as ongoing threat detection or investigations—this data may be retained for a longer duration, in accordance with applicable legal obligations or security protocols. Once no longer necessary, such data is automatically deleted.
In contrast, personal data that you actively provide while using our products and services—such as your email address associated with your Emaldo® user account—is retained for as long as your account remains active. This data is not subject to automatic deletion.
You have the right to request deletion of all personal data we hold about you at any time. Please note, however, that exercising this right will result in the termination of your access to our services, and may render your Emaldo® system non-functional. Therefore, data deletion is only recommended if you no longer intend to use our services or system.
Complaint options
If you feel that we are not adequately protecting your personal data, you have the right to file a complaint. You can do this either by contacting our Data Protection Officer at privacy@emaldo.com or by contacting the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
Updating this privacy policy
If we make changes to our privacy policy, the new version will be published here on this page. The top of the policy will always state when it was last updated.
If we make significant changes to the policy that affect how we handle your personal data, we will inform you via our newsletter.
